Loan etymology
← IIr *dhaHinu-/Ir *daHinu- 'cow'
Commentary
The loan etymology is unproblematic. The loan has to be quite early, as the disyllabic Hungarian word points to a donor that was close to Proto-Iranian. Also the voiceless t is typical of early loans.
WOT assumes a loan from Alanic *däyin, but it remains unclear why this word should be borrowed from Alanic in particular.
Conclusion
A convincing Indo-Iranian loanword.
