Khanty: East (V) jŏγət-, South (DN) jŏχət-, North (O) jŏχət- 'kommen, eintreffen' < PKh *juγət- (Zhivlov 2006)

Mansi: South (TJ) jokt-, East (KU) joχt-, West (P) joχt-, North (So) joχt- 'kommen' < PMs *jɔkt- (Zhivlov 2006)

Commentary

The traditional etymology is unproblematic: all the cognates can reflect PUg/PU *u.

Conclusion

A regular proto-form for the Hungarian, Khanty and Mansi words can be reconstructed, formally the words can go back to Proto-Ugric.
