UEW:

Khanty: East (Trj) kŏrəγʌə- 'abschwellen (ein Körperglied); zu Ende gehen, aufhören (Mühe, Arbeit, Tätigkeit, Streitsache)'

Commentary

UEW considers the Ugric etymology of Hungarian hërvad, hirvad uncertain, and it is quite clear that the etymology cannot be accepted. Hungarian ë or i cannot be derived from the *u reconstructed in the UEW, and a relationship with East Khanty kŏrəγʌə- is completely impossible.

UEW supports an alternative Uralic (Finno-Ugric) etymology for hërvad, deriving it from PFU *korpV-. However, also this etymology involves both phonological and semantic problems.

The origin of hërvad remains unclear, but none of the suggested explanations is convincing.

Conclusion

The Ugric etymology should be rejected as phonologically impossible.
